Ramble x D'Addario Partnership

Ramble x D'Addario Partnership

As a kid and aspiring guitar hero, I always dreamed of artist sponsorships. At the top of that list was D’Addario— the iconic string brand behind the greatest players on earth. So it’s an even greater honor now than I could have imagined then to be partnering with D’Addario to launch Ramble, and our joint-collaboration, Gear Collection.

First meeting

The story starts in our earliest days. We were introduced to the D’Addario partnerships team through a close mutual friend. I had just run the NYC marathon on Sunday, and hobbled into the D’Addario Brooklyn office that following Wednesday. Right from the start, we discovered a special kinship. It started over a shared love of obscure Mark Knopfler lyrics (‘the chisels are calling’), and from deep diving into the gear we each play and love.

As a lifelong fan of the brand, I knew that D’Addario had a storied history of innovating for musicians— but from that first meeting, I saw their genuine embrace of the new. While trotting out a fairly sprawling vision for how Ramble could change the way musicians collect, transact, protect, connect over, and move their gear— we came away with a shared vision for ways we could do it, together. Starting with collecting.

Gear Collection

We’re proud to introduce Gear Collection: a bespoke collector’s platform, built for the 600,000+ members of Players Circle— the largest loyalty program in music.

Gear Collection is the home to manage and celebrate your instruments. All it takes is adding photos, and our powerful auto-uploader will help you get started building your collection. Log details including serial number, maintenance scheduling, mods, and your go-to string setups (not just D’Addario!)— then organize into rigs (or folders), however most useful.

Gear Collection is more than just a personal catalog— it’s a place to connect with fellow players. When you’re ready, make your profile (and specifically selected gear) public to share with the community. Follow other gear heads, react to the instruments that inspire you, browse curated feeds, and even check out accounts from verified D’Addario artists like Gary Clark Jr., Pat Metheny, and Julian Lage.

And because Gear Collection lives inside Players Circle, key milestones earn you loyalty points: from your first upload, to your tenth piece of gear, to your first completed rig. Gear Collection rewards the thing we’re already doing on a daily basis: obsessing over gear.

The Ramble connection

Here’s where it all comes together. Gear Collection and Ramble are built on a shared backend, so moving between them is seamless. Once you’ve catalogued your gear in Gear Collection, getting insured is just a few taps away. Link your accounts with a single click, and your entire collection syncs instantly— and stays synced to reflect changes in either place. Submit an application for Ramble insurance by answering just a few extra questions, and get world-class coverage in minutes. Your policy status reflects right back in Gear Collection. One collection, one policy, fully connected.

As we’ve said before, musical gear is almost certainly not covered by your existing insurance. We built Ramble to change that, and we’ve made getting insured easier than ever.

Getting started

If you’re ready to start collecting, connecting, and protecting— check out Gear Collection here or feel free to dive right into Ramble here!

We can’t wait to get this into the hands of musicians. Lookout for more fun and noise between our brands as we get this first project out into the world. And stay tuned for more, that we’ve already got more in the works…

Cheers,

Alex Pundyk
