Anderson has insured instruments for over three decades and is endorsed by leading musician associations. But its best rates run through association membership, and some coverage is location-restricted. Here's the side-by-side.

Anderson Group has specialized in musical instrument insurance for over three decades, carries endorsements from leading musician associations, and has deep trust in the orchestral world. Their all-risk, stated-value coverage form is a serious product from serious specialists.
Based on each program's published materials as of July 2026.
Anderson's published pricing depends on who you are: base rates for the general public, preferred rates for members of participating associations, and different tables again for specific instruments and programs. Getting their best price means joining and maintaining the right association.
Ramble has one transparent price for everyone, from $175 a year with a $100 minimum deductible, quoted instantly from your uploaded collection. No membership card required for the good rate, because there's only one rate for your collection.
Two published Anderson details worth knowing: their acoustic-piano rate covers the instrument at a designated location only, and appraisals are generally requested for instruments valued over $15,000. Ramble's coverage is worldwide for every gear category with no location restriction, and values are declared digitally. Update them any time; only the premium difference is charged or refunded.
Both policies reimburse the cost of renting a substitute while a covered instrument is repaired, but the published limits are not close. Anderson's coverage form pays at most $100 in any thirty days, capped at $600 per occurrence. Ramble reimburses up to $2,500 a day, up to $25,000 per occurrence, with no deductible on the reimbursement, which means a professional-grade substitute is actually within the benefit, not just a fraction of one month's rental.
One place the two programs genuinely match: both include diminished value coverage, so if a repair leaves an instrument worth less than before the loss, the difference is paid.
Anderson's flow is the traditional one: request a quote, complete an application, wait for underwriting. Ramble's flow is a conversation: photograph or list your gear, the chat uploader builds your valued collection, and the application (with its immediate quote) is done in one sitting. Afterward, additions, sales, and value changes are quick edits to your collection, with only the pro-rated difference ever charged or refunded.
If you're already a member of an endorsing association and value that relationship, Anderson is a credible specialist with a long track record. If you want one price without a membership maze, worldwide coverage with no location locks, and a policy you can set up and manage entirely from your phone, that's Ramble.

For illustration only. Amounts above are estimates based on Instruments & Equipment coverage at your selected deductible. Deductible is per claim, not per instrument. Policies start at $175/year; your actual premium and coverage depend on your gear, deductible, and application review.
