THE TASK

Cataloging an orchestra is the real obstacle.

Ask any orchestra administrator why the instrument schedule is out of date and the answer is always the same: building it is miserable. The job spans dozens of instruments, a percussion closet nobody has fully inventoried since the last music director, and a spreadsheet three managers old. Traditional programs make it worse by demanding formal appraisals for higher-value instruments before they'll bind coverage.

Ramble was built to erase that task. Hand our chat uploader the old spreadsheet, a folder of photos, or a plain list, and it builds the itemized, valued collection for you. Or skip even that: our concierge team will catalog the entire organization's instruments on your behalf.

NO APPRAISALS

Declared value, not an appraisal season.

Established orchestra programs require appraisals for instruments above certain value thresholds before coverage applies. Ramble insures at the value you declare for each instrument, so the schedule can be accurate and bound this week, not after a season of appraisal appointments. When values change, update the collection and resubmit; only the premium difference is ever charged or refunded.

ON TOUR

Covered in the hall, the truck, and the run-out.

Coverage is worldwide and follows the instruments off-premises and in transit, whether it's the season in the home hall, the run-out concert two counties over, or the tour that puts the double basses in a truck. Theft, accidental damage, fire, and water losses are covered, subject to policy terms.

When an instrument goes into the shop after a loss, the loaner that bridges the repair is covered too: borrowed and rented instruments are insured up to $25,000 for up to 30 days, reported within 48 hours, so the chair never sits empty waiting on paperwork.

MEMBERS

Players' own instruments, handled just as easily.

Most instruments on stage belong to the musicians, and each player can cover their own in minutes: photograph or describe the instrument, let the chat uploader catalog it, and apply with an immediate quote from $175 a year. Point your section players here; it's the same coverage the organization gets, sized for one instrument instead of a hundred.

THE LIMITS

Instrument coverage, with honest limits.

Ramble covers the instruments and equipment themselves; general liability for your venue and audience stays with the organization's existing policies. Note that property loaned or rented to others is excluded under the policy, so coverage applies to instruments under the organization's control. If your orchestra runs a loaner program, talk to us and we'll walk through the specifics.
