Insurance for session musicians.
Gear insurance for session musicians covers your instruments and rig in any studio, in cartage, and in transit, including paid work, which homeowners and renters policies cap at as little as $200 to $1,500 away from home. At Ramble it starts at $175 a year.

01 THE EXCLUSION
Paid work limits what a renters policy pays for that gear.
Session work is paid work by definition: every date, every overdub, every cartage run. Standard homeowners and renters policies typically cap musical instruments at around $2,000 unless you add a rider, and they can treat gear used for paid work as business property. If you play for pay, the cap on that gear is often lower, as little as $200 to $1,500 away from home. The more your rig is worth, the less of it that cap covers.
Ramble covers professional use as the baseline. Getting paid to play is why you have the gear; it should never be why you lose the coverage.
02 OTHER ROOMS
Covered in rooms you don't own.
A session player's gear spends its life in other people's spaces, from studios and cartage lockups to backline storage and the trunk between bookings. Ramble's coverage follows the gear, not an address: it's protected at any studio, in storage, in your vehicle (theft included), and in transit, worldwide.
It works in both directions, too. Instruments you borrow or rent for a date are covered up to $25,000 for up to 30 days (just report them within 48 hours), and a bandmate's amp or a client's instrument in your care counts as covered property, which is how cartage life actually works.
03 DOWNTIME
Fast replacement when the next call depends on it.
For a session musician, a lost instrument is lost income by Friday. Ramble claims start in your dashboard (descriptions, photos, done) and are handled by Raphael & Associates, a specialty claims team. Once approved, payment can arrive by check online in as fast as 24 to 48 hours, which is the difference between missing one date and missing a month.
04 ONE COLLECTION
Everything you own, whatever room it's in.
Your Ramble collection is the single inventory of your working life: every guitar, horn, pedal, and interface, each at declared value, wherever it happens to be sitting tonight. Gear comes and goes with the work; edit the collection and resubmit, and you're only ever charged or refunded the difference.
